What is menopause?

Menopause is the point at which your body hasn’t produced a menstrual cycle for at least 12 months.   You are then "menopausal" for the rest of you life.

 

Most women enter menopause between the ages of 45 and 55, but women can also enter early menopause as a result of procedures, conditions, and treatments, including:

  • Hysterectomies 
  • Primary ovarian insufficiency
  • Radiation
  • Chemotherapy
